The story
In 1914 this was a Japanese sake brewery, later the Taipei Winery, and its chimneys smoked for more than seventy years. When the factory moved out, the buildings stood empty for a decade. In 1997 a theatre group sneaked in to perform and was stopped by police, but the episode put the space on the map; artists campaigned together until the old winery became today's creative park.
